Michael Bam
With over 20 years of experience as an educator, Michael is one of MCMA’s most experienced and in-demand teacher’s. As a registered AMEB teacher, Michael has many piano and guitar students undertaking exams with excellent results. With a wealth of experience teaching students of all ages and levels, Michael’s lessons are engaging, goal-driven and highly enjoyable. As a performer Michael was once a member of one of Melbourne’s most in demand cover and corporate acts ‘Passionfruit Pulp’, performing at venues across the country. His performance history has seen him support the likes of Thirsty Merc, Jimmy Barnes, Something for Kate, The Living End and Eskimo Joe. Outside of teaching and performing Michael designs and programs musical instrument and theory training applications for phones and tablets.

Alex Gooding
Bachelor of Applied Music (Performance). Alex has been teaching drums and instrumental music at all different levels for over 10 years. From the moment you step into your first class with Alex, his passion for the drum kit and music in general is immediately evident. His inviting and empathetic personality puts his students at ease and ensures the student and teacher rapport is established from the outset. Alex has a wealth of performing experience playing at some of Australia’s most well regarded venues and festivals such as Port Fairy Folk Festival, Woodford, St Kilda Festival, White Night and more. Throughout his time as a drummer, Alex could be found behind the kit for acts such as ‘Passerine’, ‘Phoebe and the Night Creatures’, ‘Fake Sibling’, ‘Winter York’, ‘Kilamari’ and more.

Evan Harris
Bachelor of Arts (VCA) | Diploma in Education (Monash) | Advanced Certificate of Music. Evan’s experience as a bass player has seen him tour countless times across the country as well as multiple international tours throughout Asia and Europe with internationally signed acts such as ‘Black Majesty’ and ‘Eyefear’ among others. His experience as a performer crosses many genres such as jazz, funk, heavy metal, rock and more over the last 30 years. As a teacher of over 25 years, Evan’s extensive knowledge of VCE repertoire allows him a wealth of experience for beginners to advanced players alike. Evan’s gentle and personable nature make his lessons relaxed and inviting whilst taking a structured goal driven approach.

Jake Ryan
Bachelor of Teaching. Jake is a multi instrumentalist with a main focus on Drum Kit. Jake is an enthusiastic teacher and very popular with our younger students at the school. Jake is a clinician for Roland Australia presenting there digital kit range around Australia.

Sophea Lidet Lim
Bachelor of Music (Piano Performance). Sophea is fluent in multiple languages including Chinese and Khmer, winning multiple popular teacher awards in various schools. Sophea is both competent in Music Theory and Piano Performance technique and pedagogy.
